Travis Peck, Troop 115, Traverse City, October 1, 2009
Travis did his Eagle Project for the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. He did general maintenance on the Empire Bluff Trail and the project included adding water erosion bars. He fixed the angles of the bars and leveled them with the ground by adding dirt.

Cade Ingleson, Troop 5, Petoskey, October 7, 2009
Cade did his Eagle project for the Petoskey Youth Soccer Association. He built portable, sturdy, long lasting benches for the organization. It included raising money for the material and constructing 12 eight foot benches.

Andrew VanDrie, Troop 105, Lake Ann, October 11, 2009
Andrew did his project for the South Long Lake Nature Area. He had the property surveyed and then put up permanent boundary markers around the tree mile perimeter. The markers are durable and long lasting.

Garrett Sieloff, Troop 27, Traverse City, October 15, 2009
Garrett did a food drive for the food pantry at St. Patrick's Church in Grawn. It included scouts collecting in front of stores, drop boxes at West Senior High and St. Patrick's Church, and scouts going door to door. He also got publicity for the event through the Record Eagle.

Thomas Koon, Troop 63, Onekama, October 25, 2009
Thomas did his Eagle Project for the North Point Park in Onekama. It included clearing brush from the entrance area, chipping the brush, putting chips on trails, planting shrubs and trees, putting down landscaping cloth and filling areas with stone, putting up a split rail fence, and preventing cracking in the sidewalks.

Jeff Pleva, Troop 105, Lake Ann, October 25, 2009
Jeff did his Eagle Project for the village of Cedar, Michigan. He designed and constructed three "Welcome to Cedar" signs that he placed at the village limits on each of the three main roads that intersect in downtown Cedar. It included painting and putting in flower boxes around the signs. His design was approved by the Solon Township Board.

Forrest Verellen, Troop 105, Lake Ann, October 25, 2009
Forrest did his Eagle Project for the Inland Township Park near Lake Ann. He built three benches for the park and led his troop in assembling and installing the benches.

Daren Crawford, Troop 41, Benzonia, October 28, 2009
Daren did his Eagle Project for Northwoods Lodging in Beulah. He built and put up wood duck nesting boxes. He also helped to rebuild a wetlands area.

Gus Lagerquist, Troop 63, Onekama, November 1, 2009
Gus did his Eagle Project at the Spirit of the Woods Conservation Club near Brethren, Michigan. He revived a trail that is handicapped accessible. It included leveling, raking, pulling weeds and mosses, cutting back branches and vines, and putting down a new layer of gravel. He also repaired four fishing decks and benches.

Austin Weisler, Troop 49, Boyne City, November 2, 2009
Austin did his Eagle Project for the Friends of the Boyne River in Boyne City, Michigan. He fixed up the Boyne River foot trail. It included clearing branches, removing weeds putting down wood chips, and building benches.

Wyatt McDonnell, Troop 105, Lake Ann, November 15, 2009
Wyatt did his Eagle Project for the Saving Birds Thru Habitat group in Omena, Michigan. He labeled and identified 65 plant species currently located on there property. Hand labeled stakes were used as identification markers. They were hand stamped letter by letter with the Latin Name and the standard English translation.

Landon Marek, Troop 105, Lake Ann, November 16, 2009
Landon did his Eagle Project for the National Park Service in Leelanau County. He restored a stone seawall on North Manitou Island. The project included removing lilac bushes, and mixing new mortar to rebuild the wall.

Kevin Neff, Troop 1, Gaylord, November 23, 2009
Kevin did his Eagle Project for the Waters Township Park. He restored the Waters Township Nature Trail at the park. It included clearing overgrowth, removing dead trees, and creating a new exit for the trail that will keep it off a road. He also put in two archways at the entrance and exit of the trail for identification.

Seth Duncan, Troop 1240, Cheboygan, November 24, 2009
Seth did his Eagle Project for the West Elementary School in Cheboygan. He designed and built several benches to be used in the first grad hallway. These benches will have many uses to benefit the students.

Dawson Bradley, Troop 49, Boyne City, November 30, 2009
Dawson did his Eagle Project for the Friends of the Library group in Boyne City. He organized a classroom currently being used to store books. It included separating all the books into categories, determining what books need to be recycled, labeling shelves and putting the books on them, marking the books by color, and planning a book sale.

Caleb Crouch, Troop 49, Boyne City, November 30, 2009
Caleb did his Eagle Project for Whiting Park in Boyne City. He put up no motor vehicle signs at the beginning of the trail and some wooden post barriers to keep vehicles out. He also marked the trail, did some clearing on it, built some benches, put woodchips around them, built a trailhead sign with a message board and filled in holes caused by vehicles.

Michael Wilhelm, Troop 7, Petoskey, December 3, 2009
The Eagle Project Michael did was environmental work with a new nature preserve known as Bubbling Springs. It is owned by the Little Traverse Conservancy in Petoskey. He performed trail maintenance which included marking trees, marking a new loop that would connect to the already existing trail, creating two benched, making a bike rack, and clearing the trail.

Jon Peters, Troop 55, Harbor Springs, December 9, 2009
Jon did his Eagle Project for the city of Harbor Springs. The first part of his project was to scrape and repaint the trim on the buildings at the Harbor Springs Skate Park. The second part was to repaint the floor of the cabin and to repair, sand and refinish picnic tables at the Kiwanis Community Park also in Harbor Springs.

Adam Boomer, Troop 115, Traverse City, December 22, 2009
Adam did his Eagle Project at the East Bay Township Library in Traverse City. He led Scouts through the following tasks: Spreading mulch, edging work around flower beds and bushes, pulling weeds and raking around the entire building, and pruning existing trees, bushes, and plants. He also painted the handrails, the book drop off box, the emergency exit door, window trim, and the birdfeeder. He also built and stained benches for people to sit on and read. Adam solicited donations for much of this work, including a small cafe table and two chairs for the library.

Ben O'Connor, Troop 22, Traverse City, January 9, 2010
Ben did his Eagle Project for the Immaculate Conception Food Pantry in Traverse City. He built and installed a 4 foot pocket door between the storage room and the main room of the pantry. He also built shelves in the storage room to get the food up off the ground. It also included painting and running a food drive.

David Atchison Jr., Troop 629, Kalkaska, January 9, 2010
David did his Eagle Project for Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources (K.A.I.R.) food pantry. He organized a group of Scouts that went to stores and asked customers as they entered for non-perishable food items. It included making over 300 flyers, calling local businesses and using radio and television to advertise.

Aaron Olsen, Troop 27, Traverse City, February 5, 2010
Aaron did his project for Blair Township just outside of Traverse City. He worked on the Schmuckal property that was donated to the township in 2004. He built a trail system through out the property. It included laying out the trails, clearing brush, and putting down woodchips. He also built a picnic table and a bench for the trail. His project also included picking up garbage on the property and making signs to describe the trees on the property.

Adam Reed, Troop 5, Petoskey, February 11, 2010
Adam produced 50 bluebird house kits for the Emmet Conservation District near Petoskey. The kits consisted of wooden parts, nails, latches, hinges, and detailed plans. Each kit also included a pamphlet about bluebirds. The kits were distributed to various groups including the Junior Master Gardener Program.

Jacob Noble, Troop 27, Traverse City, February 12, 2010
Jacob did his project for Long Lake Township and the Gilbert Pines property near Traverse City. He did trail work on the property that included, putting down woodchips, building three benches and putting them along the trail, building and installing 5 bat houses, removing an old dock, and picking up a trash.

Tylor O'Neill, Troop 334, Kalkaska, February 17, 2010
Tylor did his Eagle Project for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kalkaska. He did some clean up and landscaping at the church and painted new lines on the parking lot.

Jeffrey Parson, Troop 55, Harbor Springs, February 18, 2010
Jeff did his Eagle Project for the Harbor Springs Outdoor Club. He built a large open area roof over the club's building for people to get out f the rain or just to sit and eat lunch under. The roof will be large enough to place some picnic tables under it.

Scott Anderson, Troop 267, Honor, February 24, 2010
Scott did his Eagle Project for the Champion Hill Cemetery in Honor, Michigan. He cleaned the headstones so they were readable, painted the storage building, did edging along the curbs, power washed the building and put up a light to shine on the American Flag.

Kyle Coggins, Troop 115, Traverse City, March 5, 2010
Kyle did his work to the Traverse City Central High School baseball field. He added a small fence in front of the visitor's dugout to protect players from stray foul balls. He also added a warning track to the outfield to help reduce collisions with the fence. Finally, he cleaned up trash and stray wood on and around the field.

Scott Ringwelski, Troop 27, Traverse City, March 8, 2010
Scott did his Eagle Project for Mount Holiday Recreation Park in Traverse City. He improved the 9 hole disc golf course that was recently put in. He leveled and cleared the tee box areas and then put wood chips down. He also made and put up signs with the hole number, par, yardage and map on them. He added other signs where directional help was needed.

Gus MacNeal, Troop 31, Traverse City, March 10, 2010
Gus did his Eagle Project for the Interlochen airport. They cut down trees at the end of the runways, at a corner, and around the wind sock. He also sanded and painted the pilot's lounge building.

Jacob did his Eagle Project for the Charlevoix Elementary School. He created trails behind the school in the woods. It included clearing trees, marking the trail, marking trees for identification, building benches, and working with teachers to mark the boundaries.

Sean did his Eagle Project for the Bird Sanctuary in Omena, Michigan. He built a structure with a roof for birds to nest in.

Evan Anderson, Crew 33, Traverse City, April 21, 2010
Evan did his Eagle Project for Courtade Elementary School in Traverse City. He did maintenance on a trail behind the school and put up mileage markers. He also built recycle containers for the school.

Tyler Engstrom, Troop 11, Charlevoix, April 21, 2010
Tyler did his Eagle Project for a park Charlevoix Township. He cleaned up the area around the sign that identifies the park, put in a new flower bed, planted grass, put in some benches, painted the road signs and fire hydrants, put in a flag pole with a light, and installed a light to shine on the park sign.

Cullen Lane, Troop 45, Fife Lake, April 26, 2010
Cullen did his Eagle Project for South Boardman Township. He helped to build a nature trail by building a lookout to view the Boardman River. He also put down woodchips on the trail, installed benches, trimming trees, and building a message board.

Jacob Fischer, Troop 61, Wellston, April 27, 2010
Jacob did his Eagle Project for the St. Bernard Christmas Shrine in Irons, MI. It included, removing and replacing the split rail fence, backfilling the new sidewalk, repairing the drip edge, and adding a large rock to add an appealing touch to the shrine. Many people like to visit and admire the hand carved statues and the baby Jesus and Jacob's work will make it more inviting for visitors.

Jeremiah did his Eagle Project for the Homeward Bound Animal Shelter in Manistee, Michigan. He built a shed for them, which included, putting in shelves and hooks for different uses. Other Scouts raked, cleaned and spread wood chips.

Peter Melichar, Troop 31, Traverse City, May 12, 2010
Peter did his Eagle Project for the Pregnancy Care Center in Traverse City. He organized, led, and supervised a donation drive of baby food, clothing and essentials. It included going before multiple churches and getting permission to collect in their lobby areas. Scouts helped to gather the donations at the churches.

Nathaniel Gorman, Troop 7, Petoskey, May 20, 2010
Nate did his Eagle Project for the Rising Hope Riding Center in Harbor Springs MI. Rising Hope uses 21 horses to help young people learn values like responsibility. The horses have to be fed and exercised in a safe area outdoors and Nate's project built this safe area. It included building a 4 foot high wooden fence, and building a gate.

Brian Doull, Troop 5, Petoskey, May 26, 2010
Brian did his Eagle Project for the Winter Sports Park in the city of Petoskey. He helped build a trail to connect the park to the Middle and High School property. It included surveying a hill, building stairs, and leveling and mulching the trail. The plan he used was to help with erosion control.

Ryan Cartwright, Troop 5, Petoskey, May 27, 2010
Ryan did his Eagle Project for the Little Traverse Bay Conservancy in Harbor Springs. His project was done to decrease the erosion on the riverbank near Andrea's cabin. He secured the fifteen foot riverbank against erosion by using baseball sized rocks, smaller gravel size rocks and small saplings. Ryan worked with the DNR to get all the proper permits for his project.

Andrew Vine, Troop 125, Cadillac, June 7, 2010
Andrew did his Eagle Project for the Intermediate School District. He organized the construction of 16 active learning sensory boards. Scouts were gathered to help with brainstorming ideas for the themes to be used and the materials to be used on the sensory boards. Sensory Boards are used to stimulate the senses of severely handicapped students. It allows them to be as active as possible and keeps them busy while teachers are working with other students.

Andrew Morse, Troop 267, Honor, June 9, 2010
Andrew did his Eagle Project for the citizens of Almira Township and the Veterans Committee. His project was an addition to the Almira Township Veterans Memorial. It included putting in concrete platforms for flag poles and the landscaping around them.

Michael did his Eagle Project for the East Bay Township Park, Grace McDonald. He built and installed benches at the park and fixed other existing benches.

Jacob Bush, Troop 5, Petoskey, June 22, 2010
Jacob did his project for the Emmet County Conservation District in Petoskey. His project was to help save an endangered tree, the Ash Tree. They are extremely endangered because of the emerald ash borer. Jacob and Scouts he led learned about the trees and where they live. They collected seeds and stored them until they had at least 500 and then took them to the Rose Lake Plant Materials Center in East Lansing. He also created awareness by getting an article in the local paper and setting up a booth at the local fair. The seeds will be planted in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Adam Sargent, Troop 20, Interlochen, June 22, 2010
Adam did his Eagle Project for the Cherryland Humane Society in Traverse City. Adam led others in a general clean up which included: cleaning the outside windows, sanitizing picnic tables, staining benches and moving them to the front entrance, raking the grounds, and cleaning up the flower beds and rock beds.

Paul Bandrowski, Troop 31, Traverse City, July 12, 2010
Paul did his Eagle Project for the St. Francis High School in Traverse City. He remodeled the Coach???s rooms at the school. It included redoing the floors in the rooms, re-wiring the lighting, replacing a toilet, shower and floor in a bathroom, installing a new internet connection and cleaning and re-painting the entrance to the office.

Blake Bandrowski, Troop 31, Traverse City, July 12, 2010
Blake did his Eagle Project for the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Middle School in Traverse City. He remodeled the baseball dugouts at the school, by replacing the benches, building trash receptacles, adding diamond dust and leveling the areas in front of the dugouts, and he also placed and leveled the new bleachers that the school had purchased.

Derek Rasmussen, Troop 7, Petoskey, July 12, 2010
Derek did his Eagle Project for the Petoskey High School. He built an observation/storage platform behind the High School practice fields. The platform is 14 feet tall and has enclosed storage below with a ladder inside the structure. This new structure gives coaches and band directors a view of the field.

Dakota Porter, Troop 115, Traverse City, July 14, 2010
Dakota did his Eagle Project for East Bay Township and Grace MacDonald Park. He improved the baseball field at the park by adding an irrigation system, removing diamond dust and leveling, building a new pitcher???s mound and batting boxes, putting in new diamond dust, building a score board, putting up a fence, putting in a flag pole, and adding a storage shed and concession stand.

David Rhodes, Troop 41, Benzonia, July 15, 2010
David did his Eagle Project for the Living Waters Christian Center Church in Frankfort, Michigan. He did a cleanup in front of the church that included: pulling out old plants, putting in top soil, hiding some pipes that were sticking out, putting in a weed guard and new plants, and finally mulching around everything.

Michael did his Eagle Project for the Grand Traverse Heritage Center on 6th Street in Traverse City. He led other Scouts in doing landscape work around the entire building. The project included: clearing rocks and weeds, tilling, spreading woodchips, and planting bushes.

Izak Gracy, Troop 55, Harbor Springs, July 22, 2010
Izak did his Eagle Project for the Michigan Tip of the Mitt Rails to Trails. He did a cleanup on a ten mile section of the trail that included: trash removal, fixing downed signs, clearing leaves and debris from the trail, putting in erosion blocks and taking inventory of major work needs to be done by the DNR.

Doug Tyran, Troop 1, Gaylord, August 4, 2010
Doug did his Eagle Project to improve the fields for the Gaylord Soccer League in Gaylord, Michigan. The main part of his project was to install 1,200 feet of fencing around the soccer complex. He also did painting of trim, trash cans, parking guards, and the concession and storage buildings.

Quinton Davis, Troop 74, Reed City, August 4, 2010
Quinton did his Eagle Project for the Michigan Department of Transportation. He led Scouts in planting around 1000 trees along US 131 near Reed City. Quinton conveyed safety information and had bright green vests for the Scouts to wear. White Spruce were the trees that were planted and they will provide beauty, prevent erosion and snow from drifting on the highway.
